The aim of this study is to identify entrepreneurial potential in the line of trades and handicrafts and to promote it. The individual character traits of the entrepreneur or of his/her entrepreneurial team together with the characteristics of the micro-social environment can be seen as the crucial influences on the success rate of the business and on its continued existence.
The research work aims at laying the foundations for an extension of the counselling and analysing possibilities available for those people setting up new businesses and who are interested in personality analysis (the entrepreneur and his behaviour).
The project was carried out by bifego in conjunction with Typefocus, Ottobrunn and the promotion programme of the State Office of Trading. Collaboration with the trade and handicrafts corporations in Dortmund, Düsseldorf, Cologne and Münster was also instrumental in the treatment of this subject.
