Entrepreneurship-Chairs
in German speaking countries (GrueLe) in cooperation with FGF
- Objectives and Description
In the USA entrepreneurship/the management of company founding has been
developing as an academic subject since the mid 1960s. Today there exist
more than 300 professorships there. In 1997 bifego, on behalf of BMBF,
was indeed able to identify a whole series of training courses for the
founders of new businesses. However there did not exist throughout all
the German-speaking areas one single professorship specialised in this
subject.
In 1998 the first professorship in this field came into being at the
ebs. Series of studies on professorships for the subject of company
foundation were carried out by this professorship in 1999 (one wave),
in 2000 (two waves) and in 2001. From 2000 onwards all this took place
in conjunction with the FGF (The Promotion Group for Research into Company
Founding). More recently, in collaboration with the BMWI, Berlin and
the DtA, Bonn, this work was presented to the general public on the
occasion of a press conference in Berlin in August 2001. At this time
there existed 42 such professorships, 24 of which had already begun
their work.
