Evaluation of the model project Entrepreneurial Organisations on the Campus in cooperation with Start

In conjunction with the model project "Entrepreneurial Organisations on the Campus" of the state of Baden-Württemberg, nine supported organisations have now been established: Attemp to Service GmbH (Neckar Alb region); Campus im CyberForum (Karlsruhe); Campus Technologies Oberrhein (Freiburg); Gesellschaft für Existenzgründung an Ulmer Hochschulen (Ulm), Gründerverbund Bodensee e.V. (Konstanz); Gründerverbund Mannheim/Heilbronn e.V. (Mannheim); Gründerverbund Neckar-Fils (Esslingen); Innovation und Bildung Hohenheim IBH GmbH (Stuttgart-Hohenheim); TTI GmbH (Stuttgart). The goal of these units is to support potential entrepreneurs, particularly in the early developmental phase.
With the project two years old, these organisations and the entire model project were evaluated. The individual organisations were examined in detail. The research team was dependent on the assistance of the persons and organisations involved, and on their willingness to cooperate and provide information.
Inspections and surveys: First, site inspections of the offices of the organisations and of other facilities were conducted. The project directors in the organisations, as well as some supported entrepreneurs and selected network partners, were surveyed in intensive interviews. The purpose of these conversations, which were based on an interview guideline, was to examine essential aspects from a variety of perspectives. Later all supported entrepreneurs and all network partners of the various organisations were surveyed by telephone, using a shorter standardised questionnaire.
The project was financed by the state of Baden-Württemberg. It was conducted by the Chair in cooperation with the bifego and with START GmbH, Dortmund.
