Non-Monetary Obstacles for Technologically-Orientated Foundations
- Objectives and Description
For many years complaints have been voiced from the ranks of those supporting
a strong economy that there simply exist far too few innovative and
technologically-orientated start-ups in the Federal Republic of Germany.
One assumes that not only are financial obstacles responsible for this
situation but that a variety of other kinds of problems are also hampering
progress in this direction. By means of a survey carried out on IT businesses
in North Rhine Westphalia, which concentrated on the areas of Cologne,
Bonn and Siegberg, these non-monetary obstacles and problems were investigated.
Personal and telephone interviews were implemented as methods of data
acquisition.
The initiator of this survey, commissioned by the Centre for Aviation
and Space Travel, is the GMD Research Centre for Information Technology
in St. Augustin.
